Accessing the category managers
There are two category managers: One for raw materials
and one for formulas. To access these:
iPhone:
To access the raw materials category
manager, first switch to the raw materials tab. If you are currently
editing a raw material card, press back. Tap the leaf icon in the
top left of the raw materials library to open the raw materials
category manager. To access the
formulas category manager, first switch to the formulas tab.
If you are currently editing a formula, press back. Tap the filing
box icon in the
top left of the formulas library to open the formulas
category manager.
iPad & Mac:
To access the raw materials category
manager, first switch to the raw materials tab. Tap or click the leaf icon in the
top left of the raw materials library (left pane) to open the raw materials
category manager. To access the
formulas category manager, first switch to the formulas tab.
Tap or click the filing
box icon in the
top left of the formulas library (left pane) to open the formulas
category manager.
Editing categories
Renaming categories: Tap or click on the existing category name in the category manager and enter a new name. If no name is set, tap or click the blank space at the beginning of the row for the category where the name should be instead.
Setting a category colour (raw materials categories only): Tap of click on the colour swatch on the right hand side of the row for the catgegory in the raw materials category manager. This will bring up the colour picker, allowing a new colour to be selected.
Assigning categories
Raw materials: Navigate to the raw materials card you would like to set the category for. Next to 'Category', tap or click the existing category or placeholder text. The category picker will appear, allowing you to select a new category.
Formulas:
Navigate to the formula you would like
to set the category for. Open the formula information & statistics
card by pressing the statistics button (pie chart symbol)
in the navigation bar above the formula entries. Next to 'Category', tap or click
the existing category or placeholder text. The category picker
will appear, allowing you to select a new category.
Deleting categories
iPhone & iPad: Navigate to a category manager following the instructions at the top of this page. Long pressing a category in the list provides the option to delete it.
Mac: Navigate to a category manager following the instructions at the top of this page. Right clicking a category in the list provides the option to delete it.
