Editing raw materials
All devices:
Navigate to a raw material card by switching to the
raw materials tab and selecting a raw material from the library. Most
fields can be edited by taping on the currently set
value or placeholder text.
There are some notable features which can be accessed
via raw material cards:
- Suppliers are managed directly from within the
supplier drop down menu (tap or click on the 'Supplier'
placeholder text or existing supplier). Use the
plus (
+
) to add a supplier. Tap or click a supplier to add it to your raw material card (alternatively, press clear to remove it). Long press (iPhone & iPad) or right click (Mac) on a supplier in the supplier selection menu to rename or delete it. - Long pressing (iPhone & iPad) or right clicking (Mac) on the 'Cost / g' field allows you to calculate cost automatically from a total cost and total weight.
- There's an option to treat a raw material as a solvent. This allows it to be exchanged with other raw materials during formula scaling (see the Dilutions & Scaling section of the guide).
- For regular raw materials (non-solvents), it's possible to add dilutions
which are taken into account when calculating formula
percentages. Pressing the plus (
+
) expands out a text box which you can use to make notes about the specific dilution, for example, describing how the raw material smells in isolation at the given concentration, which can later be used as a reference to compare to the formula usage table (see immediately below). To delete dilution entries, long press (iPhone & iPad) or right click (Mac) to bring up that option. - The formula usage table is shown at the end of the ingredient card. This table shows the levels at which that raw material is used in each of your formulas. Any marks (see the formulas section of the guide) you apply to denote entries as too strong or too weak will show here.
